Where Does Tomorrow Fit in the We Were Here Series?

Your partner sees a different side of the mystery, and your walkie-talkie connects the pieces. This We Were Here Tomorrow series guide explains the game order and co-op requirements so you can get straight to solving puzzles together. Use this We Were Here Tomorrow series overview to choose your starting point and prepare for the unfamiliar technology waiting beneath Antarctica.

We Were Here Tomorrow is the fifth main-series installment and the sixth We Were Here game overall. Developed and published by Total Mayhem Games, it launched on October 20, 2026.

The distinction comes from We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip. That smaller adventure belongs to the separate Expeditions series rather than the numbered main lineup.

You can start with Tomorrow. Each game is a standalone online co-op adventure, even though their stories connect. Earlier games are not required purchases, and you do not need to finish them before entering Norček Industries.

For a We Were Here Tomorrow series playthrough that follows the main sequence, use the first five rows in order. Keep The FriendShip separate from that sequence; it offers another cooperative adventure without changing Tomorrow’s position.

Choose your schedule before choosing your starting point. We Were Here, We Were Here Too, and The FriendShip are described as roughly an evening’s entertainment. Together takes around six to eight hours, while Forever and Tomorrow stretch across multiple sessions. Tomorrow’s estimated completion time is approximately 10–15 hours, with puzzle-solving speed varying between partners.

What Awaits Inside Norček Industries?

Tomorrow begins with an expedition to rescue fellow Explorers. After becoming trapped beneath Antarctica’s ice, you and your partner awaken inside a Norček Industries facility with little memory of how you arrived.

We Were Here Tomorrow — What Awaits Inside Norček Industries?

Director Kathleen Bowe needs help. Her research team disappeared while approaching a breakthrough, leaving unfinished work behind as a global crisis approaches. You take on assignments throughout the facility while investigating what Norček was doing and why you were brought there.

The We Were Here Tomorrow series connection runs through its Antarctic Explorers and linked lore. Tomorrow also gives the adventure a distinct visual identity: a future imagined through an ’80s lens, complete with unusual technology and a synthwave soundtrack.

Its puzzles challenge time, gravity, and space. Each Explorer has a separate role and a high-tech tool, making cooperation essential to overcoming obstacles.

Keep those differences in mind when entering a new area. Describe your equipment and surroundings before assuming your partner has equivalent controls. Their route through a problem can involve information or tools unavailable on your side.

The setting includes unsettling elements, but the series centers on cooperative puzzles rather than sustained horror. Expect mysterious locations, traps, and unanswered questions as part of the adventure’s atmosphere.

If you previously encountered the name Where Are We?, that was an earlier title for Tomorrow. It refers to the same game.

How to Prepare for Two-Player Co-op

Communication drives the We Were Here Tomorrow series experience. You spend stretches apart, sharing information through walkie-talkies and combining perspectives to solve asymmetrical puzzles.

Tomorrow requires two players. Both need an internet connection, and PC players need working PC-compatible microphones. The game supports crossplay at launch, allowing partners on supported platforms to play together.

Describe Before You Interpret

Start with what is physically present: a label, symbol, cable, control, or arrangement. Then explain what you think it means.

For example, when discussing the cable puzzle, identify “Σ02” before calling it “the green-door module.” The ID gives your partner a precise reference; the nickname adds context afterward.

Use consistent descriptions for unfamiliar symbols. Agree on the same name before working through a sequence, and repeat it when confirming an action.

Confirm Actions Before Either Player Commits

Some puzzles impose restrictions that make careless inputs costly to your plan. In the cable puzzle, each module can be visited only once.

Before activating the next module, say its ID aloud and ask your partner to check the connection. Keep proposed actions separate from completed actions: “Next is Σ03” and “Σ03 activated” communicate different states.

Let each other finish describing a clue. Overlapping explanations make it harder to separate the information each role contributes.

Make Room for Both Perspectives

Tell your partner which controls you can use and which information you can read. Ask them to do the same before trying to solve the whole mechanism.

When progress stalls, compare what each side knows. Revisit an exact label or connection rather than repeating the same theory more loudly.

After completing the adventure, switch perspectives for another playthrough. Each role offers a different side of the puzzles, giving you another way to experience the cooperation.

Platforms, PC Requirements, and Purchase Planning

For this We Were Here Tomorrow series entry, PC support covers Windows. The PC version requires Windows 11 and a 64-bit processor and operating system.

Tomorrow is also available on PlayStation and Xbox. On Xbox, it supports Xbox Series X|S, with achievements and cloud saves.

Before arranging a session, have both partners check their own hardware and microphone setup. On PC, compare each machine against these requirements:

The standard US price is $19.99. You can buy We Were Here Tomorrow on Steam or get the Xbox Series X|S edition.

Budget time alongside the purchase. With an estimated 10–15-hour adventure, arrange multiple opportunities to play together rather than expecting to finish during a short evening.

For controller play on PC, check the controls before starting your session. Keep the microphone ready regardless of your preferred input device; communication remains central to solving the facility’s puzzles.

Cable Puzzle Rules and Complete Route

The cable puzzle is a useful example of how the We Were Here Tomorrow series turns shared information into a joint planning problem. You need to track connections, unlock access, and preserve a route through modules that cannot be revisited.

Puzzle spoilers follow. Stop here if you want to work out the route together.

Understand the Movement Rules

Every module has a unique ID. You begin at GEN, and each subsequent activation must follow a cable from the module you most recently activated.

Each module can be visited only once. Initially, the available modules are:

  • GEN
  • All Ψ modules
  • All Σ modules
  • Δ02
  • Δ05

RED, GRE, and BLU represent locked doors. They are not modules you can enter.

Three activations open access to additional groups:

DoorActivation requiredModules made available
GREActivate Σ02Θ01, Θ02, Θ03, Θ04
REDActivate Σ03Δ01, Δ03, Δ04
BLUActivate Δ03λ01, λ02, λ03

Opening a door changes which modules are available, but it does not remove the cable-connection rule. You still need a connected route from your current module, without revisiting a previous one.

Follow the Solution

The required target order is:

Ψ02 → Θ03 → λ03 → Ψ07

Use this complete route:

GEN → Ψ01 → Ψ04 → Ψ02 → Ψ03 → Ψ06 → Σ04 → Σ03 → Σ01 → Σ02 → Ψ08 → Θ03 → Δ02 → Δ03 → λ02 → λ03 → λ01 → Ψ07

Work through it together:

  1. Start at GEN, then follow Ψ01 → Ψ04 → Ψ02.
  2. Continue through Ψ03 → Ψ06 → Σ04 → Σ03. Activating Σ03 opens RED.
  3. Move through Σ01 → Σ02. Activating Σ02 opens GRE.
  4. Continue through Ψ08 → Θ03 → Δ02 → Δ03. Activating Δ03 opens BLU.
  5. Finish with λ02 → λ03 → λ01 → Ψ07.

Have one partner read the next ID while the other checks the current connection. Confirm each activation before advancing through the written sequence.

Notice how the route reaches the required targets while also activating the door controls between them. Those intervening modules matter just as much as the targets themselves.

Apply that habit throughout your We Were Here Tomorrow series playthrough: separate the final objective from the actions needed to reach it, and keep your partner informed about both.
